THE BEATLES did it. So did the ROLLING STONES.
And now TAKE THAT are planning to follow in the footsteps of British music gods by performing at the legendary Hollywood Bowl.
The manband have never made it big across the Pond but they hope the return of ROBBIE WILLIAMS – who is better known Stateside than the rest of the lads – will finally see their lifelong dream of cracking America become a reality.
I revealed last week the band were planning a string of UK gigs, including Glasto, and an extension to their 50-date tour.
But they hope it will be a performance at the landmark Los Angeles music venue that will catapult them to worldwide superstardom.
Last night a source close to the band revealed to me: “It has always been the boys’ dream to perform at the Hollywood Bowl. They would feel like their career was complete.”
And Robbie certainly seems up for a fresh start. This week, my snapper caught the joker emerging from a river covered in towels after taking a dip during filming for Take That’s new music video.

Take That have reportedly held secret meetings to plan “extra-special” artwork for their first album with Robbie Williams since 1995.
According to Metro, the group are taking special care to ensure that the design ideas for the comeback record are not leaked ahead of schedule.
A source said: “Now Robbie’s back, the lads are determined to make the artwork extra special
“They have been at tonnes of secret meetings deciding the new look to include Robbie and all the ideas are being guarded under lock and key.
“They are hell-bent on doing something different now the dynamic has changed again with Robbie home.”
Of the band’s exercise regime before their planned live dates, the insider added: “Gary, Mark, Jason and Howard proved with their dance moves they are in fine shape after the ‘Circus’ tour so they know they have to keep everyone impressed.
“They’re going to have to take everything up a notch again now Robbie is back. While the boys are used to the heavy workouts, it has been a couple of years for Robbie so he’s struggling to keep up.”
