Gary Barlow & Friends was aired on TV on New Year’s Day where it showed the amazing performance of Mark and Gary singing Shine! You can watch the performance on the youtube video just above. Mark looks super adorable with his little bow tie and his crazy dancing. ^_^

Awesome moment when Mark grabbed the professional photographer’s camera to take a photo of Gary, which you can see it here

An article on a radio site has mentioned Mark as a Pop/Rock Artist to Watch out for in 2013, for his new solo album that he has been reported of recording all this year!

Mark Owen: Many say that reinvention is the key for having a successful solo music career AFTER enjoying success within a band. Noteworthy examples of this phenomenon include Sting (formerly in The Police), George Michael (formerly in Wham), and Robbie Williams (formerly in Take That). That being said, some folks picked up on this “reinvention formula” and were yet unable to sustain successful solo careers. The name that comes to mind of a person that falls in this category is former Take That band-member Mark Owen. Like his former colleague, Robbie Williams, he created a sound that was markedly different from that of Take That. He did have success with songs such as “Clementine” – but he was unable to match the success of friend and colleague Robbie Williams. This caused him to fade from the public eye fairly quickly after his initial solo success. The esurgence of Take That in 2006 forced many critics to re-evaluate Mark’s solo material. Most agreed that in terms of quality, his material was probably stronger than that of Robbie Williams even if was not as commercially viable. Now in his early 40s, Mark Owen has gone back to being the “poster boy” that he was in the 90s thanks to the incredible success of Take That since 2006. He is capitalizing on this success and returned to the recording studio to record new material for a solo album. Not much is known as to what the album will sound like stylistically but the prospect of new solo material by Mark Owen is most definitely exciting.

Gary Barlow recently did an interview with the Mirror talking about projects for next year. There were a few that stood out like news on Mark Owen’s NEW Studio Album and also a NEW Take That Studio Album + A Tour for 2014!

Gary admits even if he doesn’t do X Factor, next year is looking very busy and that includes good news for fans of Take That.

I have got a lot of Take That stuff next year and then, hopefully, a tour the year after.

A new studio album feels right for us, it has always been in our minds.

“The band cycles are obvious, everyone wanted a year off this year and now everybody can’t wait to get back into the studio in February and that is what we are going to do.

“So, hopefully, an album for Christmas and a tour the following year.

“Mark’s solo album is out next year. I was talking to him about it earlier today and he’s very excited about it.

Then at the end of 2013, there’ll be a Take That album. We’re far from over.

We’re all creative, we’re singers and songwriters. There’s plenty left in us, don’t worry.
