Mark, Gary and Howard (Jason and Robbie were not at the event, as I don’t they think they could make it) were at Ivor Novello Awards today as Take That were up for an Award “PRS For Music Most Performed Work – The Flood”. Sadly they lost to Adele but instead they won Outstanding Contribution To British Music Award which is amazing.

When receiving the Awards Mark had said a few words

Mark on being in Take That: “Sometimes I’m bit embarrassed by sometimes I’m really proud. You’ve seen the pics!”

Mark Own paid tribute to his preggers wife at #ivors “She sends me the bottom of the garden to carry on writing when she’s had enough of me”

Another beautiful article about Mark at the NHS Garden has been posted today.

A Wimbledon family met pop star Mark Owen from Take That at the opening of a new children’s garden at St George’s Hospital on Friday.

The 40-year-old chart topper was there to mark the opening of a dedicated outdoor play area for young patients at the hospital.

Former long-stay patient Joseph Bellamy, 8, from Wimbledon Chase, attended the event with his mum Louise, and his sister Megan, 5.

Louise, recounted that during Joseph’s four-month hospital stay in 2008, that they would have to go a considerable distance, with a wheelchair, to the nearest playground, which wasn’t always open.

“Having this lovely facility onsite will really help those children and their families during hospital stays,” she said.

“It is heart-warming to see Mark Owen involved with a local charity and spending so much time with the children who were obviously thrilled.”

Having described the playground as ‘magical’, Mark Owen then surprised the hospital with a gift of £20,000 from the Take That Trust.

More rumors have been posted today by The Sun of Mark’s Solo Material

MARK Owen’s new solo material will take some Take That fans by surprise.

He wants to relaunch his solo career as TT bandmate Gary Barlow returns to X Factor duties later this year.

A source said: “Mark’s excited about his new sound, it has a modern edge. People might not even think it’s him.

“His label are keen to get the stuff out – especially as Gary being on X Factor will shift the focus back on Take That.”

With Robbie Williams working on solo material, too, there could be a TT chart battle.

Both singers are expecting nippers so might not strike up a cash wager.

Maybe the winner could take ownership of a game of Hungry Hippos.

Still nothing has been confirmed that these rumors are true yet but they are all very exciting about Mark relaunching his solo career.

More information about Mark at the NHS Children’s Garden Opening from the designers of the garden “Davies White

They have updated their site about the beautiful event with Mark and Emma on the 27th April, which is really cute.

After working on the new children’s garden at St George’s Hospital for almost a year Adam and Andrée were delighted that Mark Owen and his lovely wife Emma found time to join them for the grand opening of their St George’s Children Garden.

Mark said “Wow, this is magical. What a great place for the children to come and enjoy at St George’s Hospital. Well done to Adam, Andrée, the team at St George’s and course all the children. Thank you for inviting me along to be part of this special day”

The garden was looking resplendent after a week’s worth of April showers and thankfully the rain held off and sun chose to shine for the opening. As the Owens arrived children, parents and staff gave them a warm welcome. Adam gave Mark and Emma a tour of the garden and introduced them to the garden’s new resident rabbits, Howard and Jason.

Mark said “I spoke to Howard and Jay earlier in the week and told them the garden has two rabbits named after them, they both thought it was hilarious.” He added, all the lads think this is a great project and that’s why on behalf of the Take That Trust I’d like to present the hospital with this cheque for £20,000” after a round of applause he continued “that should buy plenty of carrots for the rabbits”

On Mark and Emma, Adam added, “so many people have asked me what Mark and Emma are like? They are quite simply lovely, very genuine, warm and friendly. They are both excited about becoming parents again and Mark is looking forwards to a busy few weeks with the Ivor Nevello awards on May the 17th and then Soccer Aid on the May the 27th”

Today Mark and his wife Emma opened the NHS Children’s Garden for St George’s Hospital. The Charity tweeted saying “It went really well. Mark was a great guest of honour and kindly posed for many photos which we’ll post on our website soon!” @GivingtoGeorges

Also Mark and his fellow bandmates had a surprise for the Charity by given them massive £20k donation.

From St George’s Charity’s website

We were delighted to welcome Mark and Emma Owen to St George’s this afternoon, to open our children’s garden.

The garden was looking resplendent after a week’s worth of April showers and at times torrential rain. But the rain held off… just!

A garden especially for younger patients has been a dream for years and now it’s a reality. It incorporates ideas and features suggested by the children, including a vegetable patch and an animal enclosure. The two pygmy rabbits arrived on Monday and have been called – rather aptly – Howard and Jason.

We were joined by Sadiq Khan, MP for Tooting, and his family, as well as children (and their families) who have been treated at St George’s.

We moved indoors for afternoon tea and children’s activities, including willow weaving, and clowning around with Smartie Artie.

Mark said “It’s truly magical”.

The children, parents, nurses and doctors on St George’s pediatric ward will get a visit from Take That’s Mark Owen who will lend a hand to help formally open the new garden with a group of young patients from the childrens ward.

The opening day will also see the arrival of three new residents to the garden. Owen the Friendly Dragon (yes, he’s supposed to look a little bit like Mark?!)
